Metal to Metal Hermetic Seals

LATRONICS Corporation utilizes modern Furnace Brazing as a joining method for many different engineered materials. Metal-to-Metal brazing is a process of attaching two or more industrial metal components with filler metals in continuous atmospheric conveyor belt furnaces or vacuum furnaces at temperatures above 450 C but below the melting point of the metals being joined. Similar or dissimilar metals can be joined with exceptional joint strength. Most industrial metals can be joined at high or low volume using silver, copper, nickel and gold filler metals. Furnace brazing has the benefits of controlled heating cycles and natural component cleaning. Hydrogen provides the active ingredient to clean the braze components and eliminate the need for flux. Consider Furnace Brazing when you want permanent and strong metal to metal joints! Mechanically fastened joints ( threads, staked assemblies, and rivets) are weak, and fail in shock or vibration applications and are definitely not leak tight. Adhesive bonded joints and soldered joints fail where you require strength equal to or greater than the base metals joined. These same joints do not offer temperature resistance above 100C.

Leak Testing

Leak TestingEvery ceramic-to-metal, glass-to-metal, and metal-to-metal assembly is checked for hermeticity. Assemblies are tested to 1 x 10-8 cc/he/sec with helium by a mass spectrometer leak detector. All equipment is state of the art and is calibrated at regular intervals to assure accuracy.
